Our Background

Kiyenyeji Women’s Network (KIWONET) is a distinguished non-profit, women-led initiative committed to closing the gender gap and empowering local women across various domains including agriculture, renewable energy, and gender advocacy. With a strategic focus on leadership, economic production, and climate and environmental conservation, KIWONET strives to foster sustainable development and enhance the livelihoods of women in Uganda.

Geographical Focus

KIWONET operates primarily in the eastern region of Uganda, with a focus on the districts of Kapchorwa, Kween, Bukwo, Bulambuli, and Sironko. These areas are selected based on their unique challenges and the significant potential for impactful interventions that benefit local women and communities.

Mission
KIWONET’s mission is to empower women by providing them with the necessary skills, resources, and opportunities to become leaders and active participants in economic and environmental activities. The organization is dedicated to promoting gender equality, enhancing women’s economic production capabilities, and advocating for policies that support women’s rights and sustainable development.

KIWONET envisions a future where women are fully empowered to lead, innovate, and drive economic and environmental sustainability in their communities. Through its targeted interventions and advocacy efforts, the organization aims to create a society where gender equality is the norm and women have the tools and opportunities to achieve their full potential.
